The problem
Keeping track of medication schedules and follow-up visits can be difficult for patients and care teams. Medication Agent explores interface and notification workflows that teams could evaluate for their needs.
The prototype displays information entered by a user or care team. It does not determine whether a medication should be taken, changed, or stopped.
What we built
Today: a user-entered schedule
The home screen displays the schedule and medication details entered for the demonstration. Any medication instructions should come from the prescribing clinician or pharmacist.
Medicines grouped by what they treat
Medication entries can be grouped and displayed with details supplied for the demonstration. The prototype does not evaluate medications or generate dosing instructions.
Configurable reminders and notifications
The demonstration includes configurable reminder and notification steps. A care organization would need to evaluate and configure any workflow, permissions, and escalation rules before use.
A record of every visit
A visit record can display details entered for the demonstration, such as the provider, clinic, date, and follow-up information. The prototype does not create or validate diagnoses or prescriptions.
Course reports
The reporting screen demonstrates how user-entered schedule activity and notification history could be displayed.
Decisions that mattered
- Configurable reminders. The prototype demonstrates user-configured notifications.
- Clear records. Visit and schedule information entered for the demonstration is displayed in one place.
- Privacy and permissions require review. Any real deployment would need appropriate security, privacy, and clinical review.
- Installable web app. The demonstration can be installed on supported phones without an app store.
Who it is for
The prototype is available for demonstrations to clinics, pharmacies, home-care providers, and care coordinators evaluating medication-tracking workflows.
